Accessibility Statement
Last updated: February 14, 2026
Our Commitment
Barker HRS (“The Job Scout”) is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards.
Conformance Status
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, language, learning, and neurological disabilities.
Measures Taken
We have implemented the following measures to ensure accessibility:
- Semantic HTML: Proper use of headings, landmarks, lists, and form labels
- Keyboard navigation: All interactive elements are accessible via keyboard
- Skip navigation: A “Skip to main content” link is the first focusable element
- Color contrast: Text and interactive elements meet WCAG 2.2 contrast requirements (4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text)
- Focus indicators: Visible focus rings on all interactive elements (minimum 2px outline, 3:1 contrast)
- Touch targets: All interactive elements meet the minimum 24x24 CSS pixel target size
- Alt text: All informative images include descriptive alt text; decorative images are marked accordingly
- Responsive design: Content reflows at all viewport widths without horizontal scrolling
- Form accessibility: All form fields have associated labels and error messages are descriptive
- ARIA: Used where semantic HTML alone is insufficient
Testing Methods
- Automated testing with axe DevTools
- Lighthouse accessibility audits (targeting 100 score)
- Manual keyboard-only navigation testing
- Screen reader testing (NVDA on Windows, VoiceOver on macOS/iOS)
Known Limitations
While we strive for full accessibility, there may be limitations with third-party embedded content (such as the Google Calendar booking widget and Stripe payment form). These third-party services maintain their own accessibility standards.
